Pine River Nature Center

Pine River Nature Center is a hands-on experience where you learn of the Blue Water Area's heritage.
They do many activities such as hauling lumber, trail maintenance, and many other things. They also grill a lot for lunch which can help them later on in life when they are camping or something like that. There is about 18 or 19 students and they are split up into 2 groups: Beginner and Advanced. In the beginning they tend to all work together instead of separately. Pretty soon they will start working on a handicap/wheelchair accessible tree house. They have already cut and weedwhacked the grass, tore out the old campfire, placed new gravel for the handicap trails, cut and weedwhacked the trails, and cleaned up and inventory the storage shed. The property is 90-acres in size and includes mature hardwood forest, wetland and prairie habitats. There are also deep ravines that give you a good view of the floodpain below it.During May and June, the forest floor is filled with a spectacular spring wildflower display that includes large-flowered trillium, mayapple and wild geranium.
Advanced Roster: Kyle B,Tracey B, Catherine H, Donta J, Darryn J, Samuel K, Daniel S, Mark T, Steven W, and Chris W
Beginner Roster: Cynthia B, Patrick D, Bruce F, Christopher G, Colby H, Crystal P, Ian T, Angela V
